Aspen and Native Species Regeneration

Aspen regeneration is a key element to getting balance back into a high elevation forest. Aspens colonies consume 20% less water than most conifers and can provide up to 83% more water into the watershed on your property compared to monoculture stands of conifers. More importantly, aspen open up the forest floor to snowfall, light and water. Overly mature aspen do not stave off conifer encroachment as much as younger stands of trees.

The 106 Regeneration “No Burn” process can promote the development of healthy stands of aspen and as a result nurture a healthy undergrowth providing food and shelter to a variety of forest dwelling creatures. Our patented removal system works above the ground to apply the right kind of pressure to “root ball” the mature trees while leaving sapling aspens and root systems intact.
